On the map of France, just below the Arcachon Bay, near the Dune du Pilat, you’ll easily find the Sanguinet–Cazaux Lagoon. This 5,500-hectare lagoon is better known as Lac Nord de Biscarrosse. La Caravelle Hotel & Restaurant is located to the south, in the Ispe area of Biscarrosse.
Ispe Bay has the advantage of remaining untouched by concrete. Its wild, natural charm mirrors the banks of the towns of Cazaux and Sanguinet. The lagoon’s water is fresh and clear, with a lagoon-like quality. Pine forests stretch between dunes and valleys, offering a seamless transition from the ocean to the calm waters of the lake.
The Sanguinet–Cazaux Lagoon is one of the largest lakes in France, perfect for strolling, cycling, or any gentle mode of transport along the Vélodyssée trail. It is also a true haven for lovers of water sports.
